Parts Work Practice Women’s Group

The focus for this practice session will be:

Exercise #2 from the Parts Work Guidebook,

Noticing the Influence of Your Own Parts

In this session, you’ll reflect on a real-life situation that triggered an automatic reaction - one that wasn’t overwhelming but felt noticeable. You’ll explore what happened inside: body sensations, emotions, thoughts, impulses, and behaviors.

By slowing down and giving conscious attention to your inner experience, you’ll begin to identify how different parts influenced you during that moment. You won’t need to name the parts - just describe how they showed up.

This exercise helps you notice how parts shape your reactions, while also inviting their curiosity and cooperation. You’ll end by thanking the parts that helped you reflect, even those that suspended judgment.

Consider using a notebook to track your insights and parts as you go - what you discover today may become a helpful trailhead for future practice.

Why a Women-Only Parts Work Practice Group?

This practice group is offered as a women-only space to support safety, regulation, and greater ease in parts work. To preserve the intention of this container, the group is for those who were born female and who continue to live and identify as women.*

Certain environments naturally help the nervous system settle. For many women, this kind of setting helps the system soften, creating more room to notice what’s present and relate to parts from a more grounded, Self-led place.

The intention is simple: to offer a space with added safety, where women can arrive, settle, and practice relating inwardly with less strain and more ease.

*Anyone who doesn’t fit the women’s practice group criteria is warmly welcome to participate in the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening mixed groups.

What Will Be Different About This Group?

This group is an affinity-based extension of the original Parts Work Practice (PWP) community.

It follows the same guidelines, framework, and practice principles established by Parts Work Practice and uses the same Parts Work Guidebook exercises. The intention, structure, and spirit of the practice remain consistent with the founding Parts Work Practice groups.

What’s different is the container. This group is:

  • Women-only (born female and who continue to live and identify as women)

  • Hosted and facilitated by Peggy Popielarz

  • Held on a separate day and time

The group offers women a dedicated practice space within the broader Parts Work Practice ecosystem, fully aligned with the same approach, values, and boundaries.

This offering is ideal for women who value the Parts Work Practice framework and are looking for a consistent, women-centered practice space facilitated within that structure.

Important Details:

The Parts Work Practice Women’s Group meets from 7:00 to 8:15 PM PST on the 2nd and 4th Sundays each month via Zoom Video Conferencing.

  • The main room will be opened at 2 minutes before the hour so we can start the meditation on the hour.

  • The meeting will be locked by 7:10 PM (Pacific) so plan to join before that time. Those who lose internet connection after this time may not be able to rejoin. So be sure you have a strong internet connection so we don’t lose you.

  • Parts Work Practice sessions are never recorded.

  • No AI bots or AI recording please. Keep this space safe and confidential.

We introduce women to a self-healing journey using The Internal Family Systems model (IFS).

This is not a therapy group, nor is it a 12-Step group. Parts Work Practice is not sponsored or endorsed by the IFS Institute and is not intended to replace IFS training. In this no-cost practice group, we discuss and facilitate the practice of exercises we have created to help you practice connecting with and getting to know your parts.

What you can expect

We meet for 75 minutes via Zoom video conferencing.

One of the Co-leaders or Practice Assistants will guide us in a Parts Check-in meditation.

After a few announcements, IFS-trained volunteers will facilitate interactive exercises in breakout rooms. During the last 15 minutes, we will gather again in the main room so you can share insights and ask questions.

Here is the Zoom invitation for our meeting.
